I’ve had a web site since college in 95. It was primarily a collection of comic strip clip art and wav files from the cartoon The Tick and the sci-fi series Babylon 5. Then I had a Geocities page. Then a Tripod page. I’ve tried LiveJournal 3 times with one of the times having a paid account.
When Myspace came along, that was my blog. Then Myspace went to shit. Hello Facebook. The problem with Facebook is the limited function of the Notes section – you’re really regulated to post comments and send links.
So I’ve decided to finally do something with this URL I got and purchased based on a botched translation from work. “Practice Makes Awesome” was mentioned a meeting at work when talking about a goofed translation for Beck Mongolian Chop Squad.
I love the phrase because it means so much. Ideally, yes, it’s practice makes perfect, but replacing the last word with awesome adds passion and creativity to the phrase while keeping its meaning.
That’s what I intend to do on this site. Being relevant in today’s culture is more about continuing education and being a self-starter. This site is a workbook and I’ve got a #2 pencil full of ideas.
